< PreviousCayman’s healthcare services landscape has been changing, and the vast network of licensed healthcare facilities and professionals has been upskilling, expanding, and improving in order to better meet the needs of our people. New services are regularly becoming available locally, making it easier for Caymanians and residents to access treatments right here at home. Along with the strides made at the Poinciana mental health facility, we now have not one but two JCI accredited hospitals (Health City Cayman Islands and the Health Services Authority’s Cayman Islands Hospital on Grand Cayman and Faith Hospital on Cayman Brac). These are key components in raising the overall quality and standard of care for our Islands. At the Ministry of Health and Wellness, we are working diligently to determine the national prevalence and risk factors for non-communicable diseases within the Cayman Islands via the launch of our STEPS 2023 National Health Survey. The results will further shape the future of Cayman’s healthcare system as it will provide us with insight that will inform the national strategic plan for health, health and wellness policies and legislation, as well as programming and services, among other things. It is important, as we gather, analyse, and share local data, that residents and visitors are able to access up-to-date information on the many off erings that are readily available to them here in Cayman. Whether they are searching for a primary care physician, or need access to more specialised care, having the necessary, relevant information on hand at the time when one is ready to act is essential. That is why Cayman Health is such an important publication, independently of whether one has just arrived on island or has lived here all their lives. As the Minister for Health and Wellness, I am proud that we have such a resource, and I am confi dent that whether accessed in print or digitally, the information contained in Cayman Health will be useful.
