Dr. Fernandez MD, PhD, FACRO, FASTRO graduated from Universidad de Malaga in Spain, and subsequently worked at the university’s Department of Radiology and Medical Physics while completing his Ph.D. He then moved to the U.S. and trained in Radiation Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation before joining 21st Century Oncology. Dr. Fernandez has published articles and book chapters and lectures all over the world, with a special interest in teaching residents, specialists and general medical staff on advanced radiation technologies. He is on faculty at U.C.L.A. where he serves as Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Fernandez is a fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology where he is the President elect. He is also a fellow of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation Oncology. He has been recognized by the Florida Medical Association as Distinguished Physician, and the Florida Diversity Council with the Multicultural Leadership Award.
